Role & Responsibility

The Junior Associates working at the State Bank of India are responsible for overseeing a range of everyday banking activities. Alongside understanding the SBI Clerk Salary, applicants need to grasp the nature of the job they’ll be handling. These responsibilities include:

  • Functions as a Single Window Operator
    1. Day-to-day bank functions such as opening accounts
    2. Amount transfers through cheque/ NEFT/ RTGS
    3. Issuance of Demand Drafts(DD), Cheque clearance, Cheque book requests, receiving inward emails
    4. Assisting the Branch Managers
    5. Helping customers with documentation work, and
    6. General office-related tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and copying.

  • Functions as Head Cashier
    The clerk also functions as a cashier. This involves handling cash transactions of the concerned branch, clearing, and transfer of cheques.
    1. The Junior associates may also function as special assistants or universe tellers.
    2. The clerks are also liable for addressing customer concerns and resolving them.
    3. Pay vendor invoices paperwork will be completed.
    4. Maintained the filling system and retrieved material from files.

  • Agricultural Assistants
    1. Assisting in banking operations/lending for agricultural development and financial assistance to small-scale firms.
    2. Scrutinize the farm plans and application forms, and assist farmers in filling the application form.
    3. To verify the farm’s machinery, tractors, pump sets, equipment, etc. at the stipulated period.
    4. Maintain liaison with land records.
